Lief Hall "Roses for Ruins" (video)

Published: January 19, 2018
With a new album in the pipeline, pop-flirting Vancouver electronic artist Lief Hall has given us a taste of what's in store with her song "Roses for Ruins." You can experience it now via a beautifully hazy new video.

The clip was directed by Hall herself and Julia Hutchings. It was shot in Lillooet, BC, during the devastating BC forest fires last summer and features dirt biker Angela Kuprel. As a press release explains, "Shot DIY-style with Julia Hutchings on camera and Lief Hall helping to lug gear up the mountains, the video is a creative collaboration which explores the surreal landscape of small town life."

Formerly of MYTHS, Hall recorded "Roses for Ruins" at the Noise Floor on Gabriola Island, with the track also featuring drummer Byron Peters and harp player Elisa Thorn.

"Roses for Ruins" marks the first single from Hall's upcoming as-yet-undetailed new album. The track is out now digitally via Hall's Bandcamp, with a tape (including a digital download) also available at live shows.

Hall will be having a release show tonight (January 19) at Vancouver's the Western Front, playing alongside Kellarissa, the Nausea and Matthew Ariaratnam.
