Kris Kristofferson Voices a Dead Talking Dog in What Looks Like the Best Worst Movie of 2018

Published: November 22, 2017
Aside from being one of the all-time great American songwriters, Kris Kristofferson has also had an impressive acting career, having appeared in everything from Convoy to the Blade trilogy. It looks like he saved his best role for his golden years, however, as Kristofferson has leant his iconic voice to our favourite movie of 2018.

Best Friend from Heaven is a truly absurd-looking feelgood drama in the same vein as a Lifetime movie. It was directed by Justin G. Dyck, a man who has somehow helmed nine feature films since the start of 2016. While that brisk work pace might suggest subpar work from Dyck, the reality is that Best Friend from Heaven looks like an avant-garde masterpiece.

Tara is forced to cancel her wedding when her dog is tragically killed, but because said pooch believes in the power of love he comes back to earth as a talking ghost pup and pulls some strings to make sure she still ties the knot. The trailer lays it all out very clearly, complete with straightforward Kristofferson lines like, "Hey guys, I'm back. And I can talk now."
