Fresh off his unexpected Foo Fighters collaboration, Justin Timberlake has been announced as the headlining act at next year's Super Bowl.

Following in the footsteps of Lady Gaga and the Coldplay spotlight-stealing Beyoncé, the former *NSYNC-er will treat football fans to a performance during the NFL championship game. The event is set to take place on February 4 in Minneapolis, Minnesota at the US Bank Stadium.

Timberlake confirmed the news in a video featuring his onscreen bestie Jimmy Fallon. Watch it below.

Of course, it's not Timberlake's first time on the Super Bowl stage. Back in 2004, he helped delivered one of the most unintentionally memorable shows in the franchise's history when he caused a "wardrobe malfunction" exposing Janet Jackson's nipple for all the world to see.

He also performed at the Super Bowl with his old boy band *NSYNC in 2001.

The pop star also recently streamed his way into homes all over the world in the 2016 Jonathan Demme-directed Netflix concert doc Justin Timberlake + the Tennessee Kids.
