Gene Wilder Dead at 83

Gene Wilder, the beloved actor known for his roles in
Blazing Saddles,
Young Frankenstein and
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, has passed away at the age of 83. According to
Variety, his cause of death was Alzheimer's disease.
Wilder was born Jerome Silberman on June 11, 1933. His first film role saw him play a hostage in 1967's
Bonnie & Clyde. He also appeared in
The Producers,
Silver Streak,
See No Evil, Hear No Evil,
Another You and
The Woman in Red.
His final role, as per
IMDb, took place in 2015 when he voiced a character on the popular children's program
Yo Gabba Gabba!
Wilder is survived by his fourth wife Karen Boyer. The two were married in 1991. Famously, Wilder had previously been married to
SNL's Gilda Radner before her death in 1989.
