After delaying their string of concerts in Toronto due to an ill band member, post-hardcore crew Alexisonfire came to Montebello prepared to deliver a furious set. Since breaking up and reforming, each member has improved on their individual skills and brought new energy to their classic songs. After creating hardcore band Dead Tired, vocalist George Pettit's voice sounds much more burly and harsh on Alexisonfire tracks such as opener "Drunks, Lovers, Sinners & Saints," or the circle pit-inducing "Dog's Blood."

The crowd were clearly eager to see the one-off performance from the band, screaming every word at the top of their lungs. Where singer and guitarist Dallas Green's voice normally soars during the chorus of "This Could Be Anywhere in the World," it was drowned out by the sounds of the audience singing along. The band fed off this energy during the upbeat "We Are the Sound," with Wade McNeil and Pettit hyping up the audience with a call-and-response moment.

The band left on a high note with fan favourite "Young Cardinals," mesmerizing the massive crowd one last time before they left the stage. While a proper reunion would be much more appreciated than sporadic performances, these shows are what fans have to accept for the time being — which is better than not having the band around at all.
