The National Have Recorded A Haunting New Thanksgiving Song For ‘Bob’s Burgers’

Published: November 22, 2018

In what is, at this point, a fairly well established tradition, The National have dropped a haunting new Bob’s Burgers song just in time for Thanksgiving.

‘Save the Bird’ is the latest in a string of Thanksgiving-themed songs the band has released in collaboration with the show, after ‘Give It To Teddy’, ‘Gravy Boat’ and ‘Kill The Turkey’. Even now, it doesn’t seem like the most obvious pairing, but I guess they’re just fans of the show?

In the animated music video that accompanies the new track,  lead singer Matt Berninger and the rest of the band drive a nervous looking turkey into the country before giving the its its freedom.

“We’re honoured to continue our Thanksgiving association with Bob’s Burgers with ‘Save The Bird’, which was recorded at Public Hi-Fi in Austin and at my secluded dojo in Los Angeles,” said Berninger in a statement. “It’s especially thrilling to have our brass section finally get credit for something. Also, I’d like to thank Tom for doing the dishes.”

Happy Thanksgiving, I guess!
