Thom Browne’s SS19 show saw the American fashion designer break away from his famously gray pallet in the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. The collection was wildly imaginative, somewhat childish and yet, very mature thanks to the impeccable details on the tailoring. A note from Browne left on the seats of the guests read “Please see the world through my eyes . . . please . . .” with a pair of tinted-lens glasses and a lollipop.

The collection was eclectic to say the least. Models walked with flowered bowler hats, a brush of the color under their chins (a reference to the shine from buttercup petals), and mismatched socks. The designs included gingham prints, multicolored crab and lobster prints, silk whale prints, oversized corduroy blazers, and of course, a healthy amount of suit shorts for that inimitable Thom Browne silhouette.
