Chinese label Sankuanz showed their latest collection in Paris yesterday. Furthering the concepts of “Kill the Wall” from their last season, Sankuanz explored binaries of constraint and establishment and protection and destruction for SS19.

The show was also the debut for a new collaboration with PUMA. The new sneaker range (slide #8), featured neon accents, eclectic materials, and a refreshing (i.e. not too chunky) silhouette.

The use of bright purple and acidic green gave the collection a bang-on trend ’90s vibe. However, the overall collection was very contemporary, using intricate chainmail sleeves, high collars, camo utility vests and pointed silver tips on shirt collars to realize ideas of protection. There was also some deconstructed protective sandals from last season in new colorways with silver straps and grid-like details on the sides.
