After linking up for the first time last week, rapper Lil Uzi Vert and Pharrell appeared on Pharrell’s OTHERtone Beats 1 radio show to talk about their time together in the studio.
Discussing his first impressions of the emerging Philadelphia hip-hop star, Pharrell explained, “I’ve been sort of seeing him just do shit on the scene and he struck me as a guy that’s just not thinking about any kind of rules. Just doing what he likes — good, bad or ugly. He don’t care, and that, I can relate to.”
Lil Uzi Vert summed up their time in the studio with one word: “nuts.” In the interview, Vert also discusses how he’s spent his money as of late, most notably buying his grandmother a house. He also elaborates on his love for Goth rocker Marilyn Manson, and the duo talk about the tragic passing of Mobb Deep member Prodigy.
