Highsnobiety Soundsystem, our new live music project, is all about putting on artists we love, in unexpected places around the world.
Earlier this month, we headed to Milan during the city’s world-famous design week for Soundsystem’s EU debut; taking over the fourth floor of the Spazio Ventura XV gallery, overlooking the Italian fashion capital’s industrial heart, for an eclectic, high-energy function.
Teaming up with United Standard, a local brand by Giorgio Di Salvo in the vanguard of groundbreaking Milanese streetwear, and supported by our good friends at Slam Jam, the singular goal of the party – and for all future Highsnobiety Soundsystem events – is to bring people together in celebration of cutting-edge music in an immersive setting.
Highsnobiety Soundsystem resident DJs were on warm-up duties, before trailblazing London MC Flohio and Parisian DJ and ‘King of Blends’ Teki Latex came through as guest performers. Each presented their own boundary-pushing sounds to a vibrant and highly-receptive capacity audience, before DJs from the extended United Standard family stepped-up to round the night off with some mind-melting experimental beats.
We commemorated the event further with an extremely limited release of collaborative tees, which were available to buy at Slam Jam Milano exclusively during Milan Design Week.
