Watch Bruce Springsteen Name His Favorite Springsteen Songs on “Colbert”

Bruce Springsteen was the guest on last night’s episode of “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.” He was there to promote his new memoir Born to Run and its companion album Chapter and Verse. At the beginning of the interview, he said he was inspired to write the book after writing an essay about his experience playing the Super Bowl in 2009. In total, Springsteen said the book was written over seven years. Later, he talked about his Catholic upbringing, why he plays such long shows, becoming a father, and more. At one point, he also named his five favorite Bruce Springsteen songs. “Born to Run,” of course, made the cut. (Pitchfork recently named the song the 16th best of the 1970s.) Watch his full “Colbert” appearance, and find out Springsteen’s top five, below.

Springsteen recently announced a book tour behind his new memoir. Find those dates here.
