The reunited Faith No More are at work on a new album, the first since 1997'sAlbum of the Year. It doesn't have a title yet, but is currently being recorded in Oakland, California with bassist Bill Gould on production duties. It's scheduled for an April 2015 release. Before that, the band will release the "Motherfucker" single as a limited edition 7" on Record Store Day's Black Friday event on November 28. (It'll be digitally released on December 9.)

Gould also talked toRolling Stone about the album. When asked what it sounds like, he said:

What I can say is that I think through our experience as musicians over the years, I think what we're doing reflects where we've gone since we made our last record as Faith No More. I think this kicks things up a notch. And I think there's parts that are very powerful and there's parts that have a lot of "space." Everything we do, with our chemistry, the way we play; it's always going to sound like us. It's just what we do, that makes us feel good. Hopefully it doesn't sound like a bunch of 50-year-old men... which we are!

He revealed that the band was recently freed from their recording contract, which prompted the burst of creativity. The new album will be distributed on their Reclamation Records imprint, which is distributed by singer Mike Patton's label,Ipecac Recordings.

They're also planning a world tour around the album's release. They'll headline the Soundwave Festival in Australia in February.

Faith No More broke up in 1998 and reunited in 2009. The lineup currently consists of Patton, Gould, drummer Mike Bordin, keyboardist Roddy Bottum, and guitarist Jon Hudson.
