Chuck D Sues Production Company Over Public Enemy Film Rights

Chuck D is suing a production company over the story rights to a film about Public Enemy, TMZ reports. The rapper allegedly signed off on Alt House Productions’ documentary about Spectrum City, a group he was a member of before forming Public Enemy. Now, the company has reportedly blocked a different production company’s attempt to make a Public Enemy film. Alt House claims that it holds the rights to Chuck D and Public Enemy’s story. Chuck reportedly confirmed in legal documents that he signed an amendment in his deal with Alt House that included a clause about his “life story.” Chuck’s lawsuit is allegedly attempting to block Alt House from locking up the film rights to his and Public Enemy’s story.
