Chance the Rapper Declares War on Bootleggers

Chance the Rapper is taking a hard line against merchandise bootleggers. The rapper and his touring company have filed a a lawsuit in an Illinois district court against yet-to-be-named entities (“JOHN DOES 1-100, individuals, JANE DOES 1-100, individuals, and XYZ COMPANY) in preparation of his next big tour outing. Chance is essentially asserting a preemptive claim for “injunctive and monetary relief” against anyone that might try to sell unauthorized Chance the Rapper merchandise. Pitchfork has reached out to Chance’s representatives and lawyers for further comment.
