With Carnival 2016 just gone, we thought we’d take this opportunity to highlight a small portion of the many shows we have celebrating the music of Brazil! A country renowned for its rich culture and musical rhythms, this small list alone shows the influence it has on music curators from around the world..

1. Gilles Peterson Worldwide, Carnival Música Popular Brasileira Mix

What’s a trip to Brazil without indulgently leafing through dusty records? In this mix, Gilles roots through popular Brazilian sounds from the 50’s, stitching together some of his latest musical discoveries.

If you’re not sweating, you’re not dancing hard enough! In this exclusive mix for THUMP, Telefunksoul makes an offering to Yemanjá, goddess of the sea and casts light onto the region of Bahia. Showcasing an hour of Bahia Bass mixed with traditional afoxé, and samba reggae.
