With the 2013 release of their sophomore release, The American Dream, Your Chance to Die proved themselves standouts in the often overcrowded death metal world. But unlike many from more reputable havens of the genre, this South Carolina band have continued to accelerate, their momentum further propelled by the addition of vocalist Som Pluijmers (ex-Cerebral Bore), who serves as a foil to the trademark growls of Missi Avila; a record deal with EMP Label Group‘s extreme metal imprint EMP Underground; and the completion of their third and much-anticipated release, Ex Nihilo, which will see the light of day on April 21.
Not only is Ex Nihilo a new direction for this new lineup, but they have brought in a cast of heavy-hitters to support its creation and release. It was recorded by Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me), mixed by Zack Ohren (Machine Head), and it features album art by French artist and graphic designer Pierre-Alain D. Now, just about a month from its release, fans are getting their first glimpse into Ex Nihilo with “Omega,” the album’s first single which is now available to stream via Soundcloud.
