“As debut LP’s, or any electronic LP for that matter, go, Konduku ‘Kiran’ is easily one of the finest of the year and a record that will be straight in our record box. Demonstrating that doing the basics well can sometimes amount to more than trying to be overly cute”…

Konduku ‘Kiran’ LP

As a DJ record hunting can be quite a frustrating past-time. You have a sound in mind, a direction you want to go. Yet all you can find is disco edits, bass on bass off house and the latest heralded juke-gqom spin off. When all you want is a straight up dance record that sounds great and will work the dance floor. Konduku ‘Kiran’ is that record.

Konduku’s debut may not win him a Mercury Music prize nomination, but what it lacks in left field originality it makes up for in perfecting a well established club sound. Demonstrating that doing the basics well can sometimes amount to more than trying to be overly cute. Kiran is layered, slick, deep and progressive in a 90’s Sasha & John Digweed type of way. Resident Advisor gave it a 4.1 and we’d thoroughly agree with that assessment.

Out now on Vinyl and scheduled to be available on all streaming services soon. Highly recommended.
