Christine and the Queens is not your typical pop act. Much like another recent pop sensation ‘Sigrid’ it’s not all glistening melodies and relational pop cliches. There’s also a spiky and substantial edge to the beats and lyrics. An edge that defines them both from the often indistinguishable pack.
Having seen both acts live at Glastonbury 2016 we can confidently report that this combination of slick melodies, pumping beats and spiky vocals is no gimmick. Christine bears her soul while she makes you dance. Her music is 80’s French House Pop with a strain of Punk bubbling beneath the surface.
