Goldroom Gets Sultry With His Remix of Janet Jackson’s “No Sleeep”

Published: January 27, 2016

Whether he’s performing with his live band or whipping up a seasonal mix, Goldroom has shown he’s got the Midas touch with his sun-kissed sounds.

His latest endeavor sees him take on pop royalty Janet Jackson and her 2015 single “No Sleeep,” the lead tune off her eleventh studio album Unbreakable. Making a come hither song even more seductive (while still keeping it classy) is a tall order, but he’s managed to do it in classic Goldroom fashion, slowing down the tempo and underlying Ms. Jackson’s sexy vocals with crisp, old-school R&B snaps and funky, nu-disco accents.

“Thanks to Janet the goddess for the opportunity to work with her vocals,” the artist born Josh Legg wrote on Soundcloud. “This one was really special to do.”

The remix comes ahead of Goldroom’s spring Pacific Coast tour. Kicking off on March 31, he’ll hit Holocene in Portland before making his way up and down the West Coast for shows in Seattle, Vancouver, San Francisco, and Los Angeles before capping the trip with two consecutive weekends at Coachella.
