Here's The Petty Way Taylor Swift's Assaulter Paid Out The $1 Judgment He Owed Her
Published: December 09, 2017
He gave her a freaking Sacagawea coin.
You probably remember that this summer, Taylor Swift sued a DJ for a single, symbolic dollar after he groped her at an event.
(Actually, DJ David Mueller first tried to sue HER for up to $3 million, and she countersued for a dollar.)

At the time, Taylor said her lawsuit was an "example to other women who may resist publicly reliving similar outrageous and humiliating acts."

And she won that dollar.

The lawsuit landed Taylor on the cover of Time Magazine's Person of the Year issue — along with several other "Silence Breakers" who spoke out against sexual assault.

Even though awareness is higher than ever about workplace sexual harassment, there are still so many people who feel victimized, afraid and silenced by their abusers and circumstances. When the jury found in my favor, the man who sexually assaulted me was court-ordered to give me a symbolic $1. To this day he has not paid me that dollar, and I think that act of defiance is symbolic in itself.
Well, David Mueller now claims he's finally paid up the 100 cents he owes her. And he did it in the pettiest fucking way possible — by mailing her one of those gold Sacagawea coins.

In a letter to the Associated Press, Mueller revealed that the coin was sent to Taylor in late November. He says the coin was intended as a jab.

It's not exactly clear what that jab was supposed to be, but presumably it's because...Sacagawea is a woman? And Taylor Swift is a woman? And the trial was a victory for women?

Well, he tried.
