Rudd’s plea was entered today in a Tauranga District Court.
Reports claims that an additional charge of threatening to kill was tossed.
Rudd is being held on bail, and will be sentenced on June 26.
Rudd’s alleged victim was the drummer’s former employee.
Rudd called an associate in last September trying to hire the person to “take out” the ex-worker.
Rudd also repeatedly called the alleged victim and threatened his life, telling him he was plotting to kill him.
When he was arrested, Rudd was found to be in possession of marijuana and a small amount of methamphetamine.
