Hard Knock Tv’s Nick Huff Barili sits down with YBN Cordae for in-depth interview at Truth Studios. In part 2, Cordae and Nick talk about how Cordae linked up with the YBN crew and how friendly competition between him, YBN Nahmir and YBN Almighty Jay fuels him to want to be better. Cordae shares that he is featured on 3-4 songs on the upcoming YBN Mixtape that also features Wiz Khalifa, Gucci Mane, Chris Brown and Lil Skies among others. Cordae explains why he chose to rap over Eminem’s “My Name Is” as the first track he released as YBN Cordae, he also breaks down lyrics from his song “Fighting Temptations” and why he chooses to save money and not get caught up in retail therapy or the latest fashion trends. The second track Cordae put out was “Old N*ggas” which was inspired by J Cole’s song “1985” and a conversation with an old head who helped him fix his flat tire. Cordae goes on to say that him and J Cole have been in the studio together in North Caroline and that they worked on some songs together that Cole produced. Part 2 ends with Cordae talking about how he doesn’t have any tattoos and how now that everyone has tattoos to not have one is what stands out. We are just getting started!
