How’s this for an announcement? London’s Desertfest has just confirmed that sludge legends Noothgrush will be playing their first ever UK show at next year’s festival, alongside Minsk, Black Cobra, Dopethrone, Agrimonia and Walk Through Fire.
The organisers have given the following statement:
“The traditional Human_Disease_Promo / WhenPlanetsCollide Stage at DesertFest is set to bring us some of the most epic, turbulent and venomously unrestrained sounds out there in 2015. Taking a slight step away from the smoke riffs and dixie land inspired elements, the focus is on an all together crustier and nasty affair, involving colossal and destructive walls of darkened doomed noise. Walk Through Fire and Agrimonia both bring the darkness from Sweden. From Canada comes the fuzzed sludge of Dopethrone, alongside mid-west dark lords Minsk, San Frans thunderous noise duo black cobra, and finally for the first time ever in the UK the mighty Noothgrush will enter the bowels of the Underworld to get the festival off to a fittingly terrifying start! Bring your ear plugs, we cant wait!”
They’ll join previously announced headliners Sleep and Red Fang, alongside Orange Goblin and My Sleeping Karma, for what is quickly shaping up to be the best Desertfest yet.
Desertfest takes place on 24 to 26 April 2015 in London, spread out across the Electric Ballroom, the Underworld and the Black Heart. Weekends tickets are on sale now for 95, and you can purchase yours here.
