Myrkur, Psycroptic & More Confirmed For Damnation 2017

Published: May 24, 2017

Myrkur, Psycroptic, Beyond Creation and pg.lost have just been announced for this year’s Damnation Festival, joining bands like Dying Fetus, Paradise Lost, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Warning, Pallbearer and Bloodbath.

Myrkur’s Amalie Bruun said of the upcoming performance:

“I’m very much looking forward to playing Damnation Festival. I have only once before played in the UK so it’s about damn time I come back.”

Bloodbath guitarist Anders Nyström said:

“We can’t wait to be back in UK to headline this year’s edition of Damnation Festival. Time to make it heavier, faster, sicker and more brutal!”

Paradise Lost frontman (and current Bloodbath vocalist) Nick Holmes added:

“As one of the UK’s premier metal festivals, Damnation captures the true spirit of underground extreme music and it’s a privilege to play there once again.”

Einar of Leprous commented:

“I’ve been familiar with Damnation fest for several years, and it always looked like a festival we’d like to play. Interesting line up with a lots of variation every year. One of those festivals where you also want to check out the shows of many of the other bands”

And Agent Fresco’s Arnor Dan, said:

“We’ve done some pretty fun shows in Leeds in the past and can’t wait to return later this year to perform at Damnation!”

Warning will be playing their classic ‘Watching From A Distance’ LP in full for the only time in the UK. Vocalist/guitarist Patrick Walker had this to say about the news:

“I’m happy to be able to announce that we’ll be performing a sole UK-exclusive date at Damnation Festival. Following the regrouping of the band this year, I was determined to play one show in England and I am particularly delighted to be able to bring Warning to Leeds in November. As a performer, this festival has always been a privilege to be a part of, offering something unique to both audiences and artists, and always imbued with an unusual degree of kindness, generosity and warmth by the fans and the festival team. I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to play our ‘Watching From A Distance’ album, if for just this once in the UK, at Damnation.”

Meanwhile, Dying Fetus frontman John Gallagher seemed similarly enthused:

“We are ready to bring some brutality to Damnation Festival this year with some songs off our new album, along with the classics. See you in the pit!”

There are still another 17 bands to be added across four stages, so watch this space for further news.

Damnation Festival is due to take place on November 4th at Leeds University Union. Tickets are priced at £40 for the day, and are available from Damnation’s site and Leeds Tickets.
