British doom overlords Moss have just announced a full UK tour for this May, calling at Birmingham’s Doom For The Doomed Festival in addition to shows in London, Plymouth, Bristol, Cardiff, Newcastle, Manchester, Milton Keynes and Nottingham.

Moss have been going strong for over a decade now, and any doom fan worth their salt will already be very familiar indeed with Dominick Finbow’s menacing, snail paced riffs, Chris Chantler’s funeral procession beats and Olly Pearson’s spine chilling scream. The band’s most recent album however, ‘Horrible Night’ showcases a different side of Moss. Those evil slow motion riffs are still to be found in abundance, but the atmosphere is more traditional doom than abject horror, with Olly foregoing his trademark shriek in favour of soaring, Ozzy-esque melodies. The combination works perfectly, and finds the band reaching out into new territories that suit them extraordinarily well.

Support acts and a rather snazzy hand drawn tour poster are due to be announced very shortly, so watch this space for more news.
