Listen to ‘The Shower’ from ‘Looking Wet in Public’ by Palehorse

Published: May 03, 2016

‘The Shower’ is taken from ‘Looking Wet in Public’ released on Truthseeker Music on 1 July, and the first album from Palehorse since ‘Harm Starts Here’, which was itself released on Candlelight Records in 2013. The band have just announced an indefinite hiatus following their tour with Ghold in May, so this album may be their last.  You can buy ‘Looking Wet in Public’ here.

We asked the band to explain what ‘The Shower’ is about:

“Basically, the song’s an examination of the futility and misery of existence, using the symbolism of a terrible shower experience as the main narrative thrust. I mean, we’re not talking the finest bourbon here, or twice-daily massages, or all expenses trips to Aruba. We’re talking the basics, the fundamentals. Can we just – at the very least – get clean in relative comfort?! Is that too much to ask? You know.I have never found the perfect shower temperature. Not once. It’s always wrong. And that’s before we consider OTHER PEOPLE’S showers. That is hell thrown into sharp focus. And since we’re here, we can riff on this a million ways. What happened to the tasty inexpensive high street sandwich? I can make one at home. Why is this such a torture outdoors? I think these are shared experiences any reasonably measured person can relate to. The song’s also about the failure of modern geopolitics, natural disasters, and lost love.

RIP Prince.”

Palehorse have two bassists and no lead guitars. The line-up for recording is as follows:
