The new Spider Kitten album ‘Ark Of Octofelis’ is released Friday 6 May on Undergroove Records.
Explaining the concept of the album, the band told us:
“‘Ark Of Octofelis’ tells the story of a fictional psychedelic rock band who live on a planet called Octofelis, where it always mid-1970s southern California. The band create a compound in the desert and convince hundreds of unsuspecting teenagers to join a quasi-religious cult, with the goal of building a giant wooden space ark. The plan is to kit it out with a state of the art recording studio and fly through the universe spreading their message of psychedelic harmony. The band, however, are terrible people, and they fly off on their own leaving their followers behind, only to discover that in their haste to get the ark built they’ve forgotten to include and method of steering. So the band drift forever in deep space, able only to beam their music down to the nearest planet’s surface to serve as a cautionary tale in greed and power.”
‘Ark Of Octofelis’ is Spider Kitten’s 27th release since their inception in 2001. The album itself is divided into two tracks called Side 1 and Side 2. Within these tracks are contained individual songs:
