Swedish stoner metal quartet Goatess are gearing up for a UK tour next month with trad doom trio Iron Void.
Goatess have existed in some form or another since 2009, but it wasn’t until last year that they finally released their self-titled debut album. For doom heads though, the wait was surely worth it; marrying the epic, melancholy heft of vocalist Christian Linderson’s previous bands like Count Raven and Lord Vicar to a distinctly psychedelic bent, it’s a great record indeed – and it’s going to sound even better live!
Iron Void, meanwhile, have been churning out deliriously heavy doom since 1998, although they’ve only just released their debut album this year. Again, it’s hard to imagine any doom fan worth their salt being disappointed by this little beauty, with all manner of thick, juicy riffs and a vintage sense of songcraft that’ll have fans of bands like Saint Vitus and Pentagram grinning from ear to ear.
