Canadian grind lunatics Archagathus have joined forces with fellow countrymen Six Brew Bantha for a full European tour, and they’re hitting the UK in just under a month. Get your dancing shoes on, it’s time to grind!
As you’d expect from a band named after the son of Agathocles (the Greek tyrant), Archagathus’ sound is heavily indebted to Agathocles (the band). After taking that band’s self-defined “mincecore” template and making it even more intense, they quickly established themselves as a name to keep an eye out for – and they haven’t disappointed, with a string of incendiary split 7″s with the likes of Unholy Grave, Mesrine and even Agathocles themselves keeping the grind hungry masses thoroughly satiated. Don’t miss this opportunity to catch the band in the flesh!
Formed out of the ashes of local powerviolence bands like Cyborg Justice and Wayne Powerman, Six Brew Bantha are undoubtedly the finest grindcore band to be named after a drunken Star Wars character – sure, they might well be the only grindcore band to be named after a drunken Star Wars character, but that’s besides the point. These guys are absolutely furious, and if you dig blasts, shrieks and gnarly riffs even a little bit, one listen to their blistering self-titled LP (handily embedded below) will confirm that this is a band you need in your life. Once you’ve done that, their recent splits with Water Torture, Suffering Mind and, indeed, Archagathus are also well worth tracking down.
