It’s been over two decades since Tupac Shakur’s death, and yet he’s still dominating the headlines. The legendary ’90s rapper will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 7th, and his long-gestating biopic All Eyez On Me will finally hit theaters on June 16th, the day that would have marked his 46th birthday. The Hollywood Reporter recently learned that Lionsgate has acquired the U.S. rights to the film, which traces Tupac’s rise to stardom and the subsequent controversies he faced in the spotlight.
All Eyez on Me was directed by Benny Boom and stars Tupac doppelgänger Demetrius Shipp, Jr. in the lead role. Danai Gurira, Kat Graham, Dominic Santana, Jamal Woolard, Keith Robinson, Lauren Cohan, and Hill Harper also star. Watch the trailer above.
