Pearl Jam plan new album for 2016

Published: August 25, 2015

Pearl Jam will return to the road in November for a South American tour. Afterward, according to bassist Jeff Ament, the band will begin work on a brand new studio album. Ament revealed the band’s plans in a new interview with VICE.

Lightning Bolt, Pearl Jam’s most recent LP, was released in October 2013. After spending much of 2014 touring extensively in support of the album, the band’s members have shifted focus to their various side projects as of late. Eddie Vedder joined The Who on stage during their most recent American tour, helped bid David Letterman adieu, and even collaborated with his daughter for a song. Meanwhile, Mike McCready reunited with Mad Season for a one-off performance, and recently participated in a tribute concert to Iggy and the Stooges.
