Fiona Apple and composer Michael Whalen share “Tiny Hands” chant for Women’s March on Washington — listen

Published: January 17, 2017

Donald Trump won’t even have 24 hours in office before the streets of Washington, D.C. will be flooded with detractors. The President-elect may be having trouble getting people to attend his inauguration, but almost 200,000 people are expected to take part in the Women’s March on Washington the following day, Saturday the 21st.

Of course, when you have hundreds of thousands of people walking down Independence Avenue, you need to make sure your message is clear. That’s why Fiona Apple has teamed with composer Michael Whalen to create a new chant they’ve called “Tiny Hands”. Protestors won’t have the marching drums or Whalen’s stalking piano to back them when they hit the streets, but they should have no problem repeating the instantly memorable words: “We don’t want your tiny hands/ Anywhere near our underpants.”

It’s a feminist protest chance that’s unfortunately perfect for 2017, and you can hear it below. More info on the Women’s March can be found at its official website.

This is just the latest anti-Trump song from Apple. She previously shared the Christmas ditty “Trump’s Nuts Roasting on an Open Fire”.
