Usher and Jermaine Dupri Tease ‘Confessions Part III’

Published: August 17, 2017

In the midst of controversy, Usher is returning to the studio. The R&B crooner has reunited with frequent collaborator Jermaine Dupri for a “Confessions” sequel.

Earlier this week, JD captioned a photo of himself and Usher with “C 3,” adding to speculation that a third installment of Usher’s “Confessions” series is in the works.

The duo also hit the lab with Bryan-Michael Cox, who worked on various Usher classics, including “Confessions Part II,” “Burn,” and “U Got It Bad.”

Rico Love, whose credits include 2010’s Raymond v. Raymond and 2012’s Looking 4 Myself, is also involved in the sessions.

“Confessions Part III” follows “Confessions Part II” off Usher’s best-selling album to date, 2004’s Confessions. The album went on to sell 10 million copies in the U.S. and produce No. 1 hits like “Yeah!,” “Burn,” and “My Boo.”

Usher has plenty of material to draw his new “Confessions” from. The singer has remained quiet after being sued by four people — three women and one man — who claim that he exposed them to herpes through sexual activities without letting them know that he was allegedly carrying the virus. The R&B superstar reportedly settled a $1.1 million lawsuit over similar claims in 2012.
