Hollywood director John Singleton isn’t bumping and grinding on the daily but he’s pulling for R. Kelly. The veteran filmmaker has spoken up for Kells amid growing secret cult accusations.

In a new on-street interview, Singleton defended Kelly and downplayed the idea of any wrongdoing.

“No, he’s not misunderstood. I mean, he has a bunch of girlfriends, you know, a lot of people have a bunch of girlfriends. The women that he’s with are adult women and they made decisions to be with him and they know what they are getting into. I don’t see what the controversy is.” (TMZ)

Recently, rap manager Wack 100 shared his opinion on the Kelly drama.

Early Friday, rap star 50 Cent likened R. Kelly to fictional “Power” character James “Ghost” St. Patrick.

This week, 21-year-old alleged Kelly female cult member Joycelyn Savage spoke out and denied her family’s accusations.

“I’m 21, I’m about to be 22 in 5 days and I just mainly want to say that I am in a happy place with my life and I’m not being brainwashed or anything like that. It just came to a point where it definitely has gotten out of hand. So I just want everybody to know, my parents and everybody in the world I am totally fine. I’m happy where I’m at and everything’s okay with me.” (TMZ)
