Out of Control Army is one of Mexico favourites new ska bands. They are formed by various members of established bands like Los de Abajo, Sekta Core, Salon Victoria and Señor Bikini to refresh the ska sounds of the city. Fronted by Deals who also manages the Non Stop Ska festival and the venue Gato Calavera as well as their own record label Out of Control Records. A true sample of the best ska from Mexico.
The standard-bearers of modern ska in Mexico City, Out Of Control Army lives up to their name with their fiery, energetic performances. The band’s furiously engaging shows have made them staples around their home country and large parts of the United States. Their incredibly fun reworking of the theme for animé Dragon Ball GT garnered widespread attention with over one million plays in its first week of release. This feat that has opened up a whole new audience, helping spread the word of ska to a wholly fresh audience.
Bone Daddies
Taking influences from a wide variety of musical genre’s including ska, reggae, swing, jazz, rockabilly and punk. The Band has created a sound that is familiar and yet distinctively unique. The Bone Daddies present a musical momentum that is hard not to get swept up in.
Cawama
Surf/Punk Garage Rock revivalists, Cawama formed in Vancouver BC by the Miron brothers and Danny Pereira in the summer of… 2013.
After auditioning many musicians, we invited the talented guitar player Derrick Doll as a guest musician on bass for a couple of gigs, and after a couple of practices, chemistry and groove starting flowing making this move a permanent one keeping Derrick Doll on Bass.
CaracasFormed in 2011 by Venezuelan-Canadian brothers Javier and Victor Badillo, CARACAS forges an unforgettable mix of Latin grooves, fiercely original rock and a high-energy live show, reminiscent of bands like Pixies, Gogol Bordello, Manu Chao and Santana…with a Venezuelan twist.
Caracas has completed a tour of the Mexican Mayan Riviera (2014) a tour of the Okanagan (2015), recorded 2 EPs and a demo, and has songs featured in TV shows, web series and independent movies. The band has also shared the stage with Latin Grammy nominated stars Jarabe de Palo (Spain), Gondwana (Chile) and La Gusana Ciega (Mexico).
