Born in Sheffield in 1987 NEM has always been an extremley creative and motivated individual, who regards his music as a means of self expression. He began to take music seriously in 2006 experimenting with his music and over the next few years performed alongside various artists such as Example, Chipmunk, Lethal Bizzle, Wiley, Skinnyman, Bashy, Akala & Tinchy Stryder, amongst others.



Having risen from Sheffield's grime and hiphop influenced "steel underground" NEM has now opted for a more commercial approach in 2010 with his sound being moderately influenced by both electro and indie music, while maintaining its urban roots, and often including narratives in the lyrics, which is a persistent characteristic of NEM's songs.



Having performed at a large number of music venues and nightclubs, NEM has featured in many online and printed publications as well as receiving consistent radio play for his music. Now a well known name in his local music scene, both urban and not, he has made an impressive impact on it, with songs such as "Fresh Kicks", "Trying To Run" and the local hit "Lights Out" with his group 4th Bass, as well as a series of mixtapes since 2006.
