Song Summit 2012: In Conversation - Neil Finn - Video
PUBLISHED:  Aug 17, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
Neil Finn exclusively joins us to present The Sun Came Out, an intimate documentary film that provides insight into what he describes as "the most extraordinary musical experience" of his life.

In 2009 Finn gathered a world class group of musicians to record The Sun Came Out, a charity album for Oxfam. The album was written, recorded and performed in three weeks. The stellar line-up included The Smiths' Johnny Marr, Radiohead's Ed O'Brien and Phil Selway, Glenn Richards, Tim and Liam Finn as well as Don McGlashan, Bic Runga, KT Tunstall and Wilco members Jeff Tweedy, John Stirratt, Glenn Kotche and Pat Sansone.

The Sun Came Out brings us a privileged look into the film project, the writing and recording of an entire album within an intensely short time frame. It is a glimpse at how the songs and show came together, how the writers approached it, their impressions of New Zealand and the camaraderie of like-minded people thrown together under a common cause.
