Formed in 2005, Negative Red is the culmination of all electronic and
technological skills obtained and mastered by Lansing, Michigan native
Carson Duke. After multiple attempts to higher the standard of the
local Industrial scene with acts like Flybrains, VeinFlowers, &
Vermiculum, etc., the time had come to implement every bit of acquired
digital knowledge into one outlet. Thus, the band came to be. Negative
Red made quite an impact on the Detroit industrial circuit around the
same time, opening for seasoned, national acts such as Bile,
Genitorturers, Combichrist, Hanzel und Gretyl, and Otep.
Changes in band member's lifestyles altered the original Negative
Red line-up in 2006 when Carson moved from Michigan to Ft. Wayne,
Indiana for a position as a pro audio consultant for a highly respected
recording studio and sales organization. It was this move that served
critical to the band's history and allowed Carson to meet Nick Meade,
a fellow Sales Engineer. It was not long before Nick (a graduate of
McNally Smith College of Music St. Paul) heard early Negative Red
recordings and became a part of the fold joining in as programmer,
keys, and lead guitar. With two minds possessing extraordinary
technical knowledge, Negative Red began to evolve, reinventing and
perfecting it's already flawless substance & sound. After months of
mixing, practicing, and fine-tuning, their long awaited self-titled debut
album "Arteriole" is slated for a Spring 2009 release.
The purpose is not to change the world. The purpose is to change
your mind. In a time where artists have become trapped inside of a
box, Negative Red will reopen it and break down the walls of
conventional thinking. Seamlessly combining the artistry of Nine
Inch Nails, the brutality of Combichrist, and the decadence of Marilyn
Manson, Negative Red is a machine, truly the new breed of
Industrial.
