North Carolina, is a music state that has yet to be completely discovered, by the mainstream. At the age of 25, Tone Mott plans to help uplift the city of Goldsboro from the underground into the national spotlight it deserves.
Born Antonio Mott, in Goldsboro NC, on November 12th 1984, to a married couple, he was the second of two children. Being raised by Christian parents, his father being a Pastor, he grew up in the church. He discovered his love for music at an early age. He taught himself how to play the keyboard and started playing for his church choirs. By the time he made it to middle school he joined band and learned to play the saxophone and drums.
In 1997, at the age of 12, he made his first beat and in 1999 at the age of 14. he started rapping and writing his on songs. Throughout his middle and high school stints, Tone Mott enjoyed rapping in front of his fellow peers in school. As the years passed, he continued with his music. He started going by the name of Tone Mott aka Tha Muziqbox. Around the age of 19, Tone Mott and his friends wrote and recorded many songs. At age 21, Tone Mott began to take rap music more seriously. It wasn’t just a hobby anymore. He released a few mini mixtapes and passed it around to all of his high school friends. People began to consider him as a youngster with potential.
Tone Mott aka Tha Muziqbox, is an outstanding rapper, songwriter, and producer that gives his hip-hop and R&B fans everything they could possibly want from one artist. His down south swagger and sound gives you every dimension of urban music that you possibly could ask for. He makes music for the ladies, the fellas, and most importantly music that is relative to every race and religion around the world.
People have noticed Tone Mott’s buzz and have contacted him to perform at large venues such as Amores Lounge in Raleigh NC, The Lighthouse in Rocky Mount NC, three times. Gucci Man watched in the crowd, as he performed and had the crowd hype at Club Myst at Myrtle beach, SC. He graced the stage in Richmond VA, at Alley Katz and performed in Clarksville VA, at the VFW center. 3 Square Lounge in Raleigh NC, Numerous talent shows at Bogart’s in his hometown Goldsboro NC. He opened up for Lil Boosie and Shawty lo at the Kinston NC drag strip, Club Faces in Greenville NC, in Jacksonville NC, at the American Legion for the youth. Tone Mott is a movement that’s taking over his local cities, towns, and states.
The release of his solo mixtape, “Tha Bailout “is coming soon. He hooked up with DJ Prince for this project. Tone Mott put his all into this mixtape. Instead of the usual dope and gun talk used by most artists, Tone Mott brought truthful content and lyricism. He even went and got high quality artwork and his CD’s professionally pressed as if it were a major label release. He knew other local artists weren’t doing it this way. This will be the hottest mixtape to hit the streets. Tone Mott aka Tha Muziqbox has a very bright future from 2009 and beyond, which means the people will see a lot from him in years to come. His name not only represent's his actions as an individual; but it represents a movement.
