Natural Born Tellers (NBT) was formed in 2005 by two gifted artists who met while studying music in University. Dave Tell and Matt von Diamond are talented experimental guitarists drawn together by an extraordinary enthusiasm for Rock Music. The goal of this union was simple; to combine their mutual passion into inspired artistry. Other musicians were added to the lineup but no singer was able to fulfill their soaring ambition. As a consequence of a joint decision, the group decided that Tell would be the band’s lead singer.



After mastering musical composition, NBT immersed themselves in their first arrangements, which gave birth to a series of demo’s that served to flesh out their singular style. Frequent concerts resulted in greater exposure and helped to develop a following as the band’s name became better known.



The autumn of 2007 saw the addition of Nick Cash, a friend of longstanding, as the second guitarist and the group began production of their first record entitled, Show Me Your Fingerª. As perfectionists, the band was disappointed with the results and took the decision not to release the album. A return to the studio was in order.



In 2009, the group threw themselves into completely re-working and re-recording their debut album with a new producer, two time Juno award nominee, Jean Perruno. This time it was the voice of Cash behind the microphone as the lead singer, with Tell retaking his guitar alongside von Diamond. The music and lyrics were recomposed and adapted to the revised lineup and the band’s powerful new voice. This potent recipe enriched a bold performance to better reflect the groups daring vision of Rock in the new millenium.



Nick Cash, Matt von Diamond and Dave Tell have taken command of NBT and they intend to stake out their territory across the evolution of Modern Rock in the coming decade. Natural Born Tellers are a Canadian group and they expect to release their debut album in January, 2010.
