Yung Wax is the rap name that he uses. His was given the street name Wax by his crew whom he hung with back in the early nineties. He was born and raised in Phoenix AZ , the oldest of four children and a single mother. He moved from the projects of East Phoenix to a house in South Phx on 3rd ave and Caldwell (South Phoenix ). He used to participate at the elementary school talent shows mimicking rap songs from music that was given to him. He was introduced to Gangsta rap by the age of 8 from his older friends and uncles. He was influenced by an array of artists from EPMD, Spice-1, Too Short, LL Cool J, MC Eiht, N.W.A., Run-DMC, Scarface, E-40, Eric B. & Rakim, DJ Quik, UGK, Big Daddy Kane, RBL Posse, Rodney O & Joe Cooley, King Tee, to The Isley Brothers, Marvin Gaye, Roger Troutman, to Earth Wind & Fire. By the time he had entered high school his talent for freestyle rapping was discovered as he would grabbed the microphone and attempt to entertain the crowd. After a majority of the crowd admired his style and deliverance, word began to spread fast that there was a kid named Wax from the South Side who had skills in rapping. From there it started he began to enter and win talent shows, ciphers, freestyle battles and what not. October of 1994 Wax was indicted and arrested for selling illegal narcotics. One of his biggest obstacles he was facing was will he be tried as an adult. With the support of family and friends he would remain in the juvenile court system and was sentenced to intense probation until he turned eighteen or graduated from high school. Throughout this ordeal with the streets he maintained his buzz for having skills on the microphone. In 1996 he Yung Wax was a member of a local rap group called P.A.T. (Playas and Thugs), which was a four member group with artist LP, Tweet, and Bone. In the summer of 1997 his equipment was stolen and destroyed, by whom no one knows. His back pack was included which contained all of his songs that he had been writing over the years, everything was gone. Yung Wax left the group and once again became solo artists on a mission. Through determination, perseverance, and ambition Yung Wax headed into the studio and started working on his first album. Once the pre production and pre recording was complete the project was set for the mixing stage, the equipment was allegedly stolen again. Unsatisfied and exhausted from a previous similar turn of events, he somehow managed to find his music that he had been recording went through the necessary procedures and released it under his own label Natormade Entertainment, which is self-made and the young new voice for the old generation of Gangsta Rap.
