"Very possibly perhaps one of the most creative, expressive and innovative hip hop albums we've heard in years, Nathan Nice blows over expectations and uses any and every style or genre available for use of color, texture, emotion and perspective. It's always so refreshing to hear West coast artists push the limits, stretch the horizons and break through the invisible ceiling of music "genres". This album does that with incredible cohesiveness and clarity. For chill fans, this album goes down like hot buttered rum." - Derek Sivers, Founder of CD Baby
"Awesome self-released debut CD from Los Angelino MC/producer Nathan Nice. Deep & meaningful with hardhitting, poetic rhymes & multi-layered musical tapestries. Very highly recommended!" - Rhino RecordsAlbum Description:Nathan's debut album as a solo artist "Ain't Nathan Nice" was released in 2005. It was featured on the front page of the iTunes U.S. hip-hop store and on CDBaby.com's front page for four weeks and two weeks respectively. It is a collection of songs and lyrics, some of which had been archived for almost a decade prior—from verses he'd written in high school to ideas he recorded just weeks before it's completion. It features various California-based producers (Avid Deville, Ika Dry, Devin McNulty) and DJ's (DJ Troma One, DJ Pudgemcee), with the majority of production and engineering handled by Brontosaurus in Los Angeles. "Ain't Nathan Nice" is a unique mixture of existentialism, coming of age and living in LA with subjects ranging from self-empowerment, social awareness and natural history to "just being in awe of this mystery we swim in." Nathan also executed all the graphic design, illustration, photography, layout and packaging that went into this labor of love. The original, 1000 digi-pack run of "Ain't Nathan Nice" has long since sold out, but you can still find the entire album on iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, eMusic and other fine online music retailers world-wide. •••
