Nathan Kalish and the Wildfire

Over the past four years, Kalish has cut a solo record, toured frequently, played incessantly, masterminded three Wildfire albums and has much more in the works. Nathan Kalish (the artist) and the Wildfire (the band) are together today and making some of the most interesting music in West Michigan. When REVUE asked musicians, promoters and others in the local music business who they thought were the coolest local artists — Kalish’s name was on the majority of responses that came back. Amid a sea of punk, folk and indie bands, the Wildfire have established a reputation for playing straight-ahead rock that recalls Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty, but that also has a raw quality like the Foo Fighters or White Stripes.
