Nathaniel Willemse

Nathaniel was born in Cape Town, South Africa, and moved to Melbourne Australia, when he was 6 years
old. Growing up in a culture immersed in musical and artistic expression, Nathaniel developed a passion for
music that has taken him on a journey from Africa to the stages of Australian Idol 2006, to the recording
studios of Melbourne.
Nathaniel's music is a unique blend of musical genres, smoothly fusing acoustic soul and R&B together with
elements of rock, funk and jazz. Nathaniel relies heavily on the personal experiences that he has
encountered throughout his life as motivation for his songwriting. Whenever he performs, Nathaniel draws
inspiration from his musical influences legendary artists such as Stevie Wonder, Al Green and Marvin Gaye
just to name a few.
Nathaniel had released his first debut single "Vertigo" in 2008 exclusively via iTunes and the accompanying
music video clip, which was shot at Melbourne's iconic Eureka Tower, nationally aired on Channel 10's Video
Hits alongside a nation-wide competition which were all met with an amazing response. In addition to this, he
was involved in a promotional campaign where he was interviewed by FOX FM for their Australian First
program and delivered a live acoustic performance on air of his single "Vertigo". He also went on to perform
live on Channel 9's Mornings with Kerri-Anne and headlined the exclusive 2007 New Year's Eve party for
Channel 7 and 3AW at Melbourne's Eureka Tower.



Nathaniel has recently been hard at work in the studio perfecting his new 6 track EP for 2011. The single
"You Are The One" will be released on ITunes in Spring 2011. "You Are The One" is a song that musically,
melodically and lyrically meets the likings of Adele, Bruno Mars and Daniel Merriweather. Songs from the
2011 EP had been written by Nathaniel aswell as collaborating with some of Australia's most prolific and
accomplished songwriters, producers and musicians such as Jade Mcrae, Phil Turcio [Guy Sebastian "Taller,
Stronger, Better"], brothers Gary and Brad Pinto (CDB) and Paul Cecchinelli [Anthony Callea "Live For
Love"].
Since performing his laid-back soul version of the U2 hit "Vertigo" on Australian Idol 2006 and blowing
audiences and judges away with his extraordinary vocal talent, Nathaniel is undoubtedly on his way to being
recognised as one of Australia's greatest contemporary voices. He has the reach and likeability of talent such
as Bruno Mars and Justin Timberlake and is destined to fill a void in the Australian and International market
that is currently there for the taking.
