Nathanael Mehrens, native Missourian, has been around the block.

A veteran at 24, Nathanael has been making records (albeit somewhat in the shadows) since he was little more than a child. He's gone through a wide array of musical excursions, from The Canvas Grean in high school, a church plant in Italy, EPs with old friends - here/there - to working with purevolume and virb.com.

After admittedly “stubbing his toes on the Midwest,” Nathanael made the trek to Nashville and began compiling a whole new set of experiences to shape his art and his person. It was Nashville that brought him into collaboration with the major players on his latest and greatest release. For the Conscious’s roster is dripping with quiet talent, boasting the likes of mike odmark (producer/engineer/keys/guitar/percussion), dan burns (drums), geoff sprung (upright and electric bass), seth gangwer (violin), justin saunders (cello), and natalie prass (vocals).

I decided to hook up with Mike Odmark, a producer/engineer with lots of talent and a great repertoire (Tyler James, Natalie Prass, Allie Peden, Daniel Ellsworth, Evan Goodberry). We recorded six songs over the course of a couple of weeks in October and November of last year and decided to call it "For The Conscious". -NM

Nathanael has developed something so beautiful and intricate, so fragile and so full, it’s a wonder he hasn’t been snapped up into the heavens. Angelic and irreverent, Nathanael’s vocals find a way to cut directly through skin and bone to pierce your heart. For the Conscious is composed of experiences so real you almost feel like you’re eavesdropping.

The culmination of Nathanael’s life to this point has been summed up in a somewhat tidy, somewhat haunting, fully engrossing set of six songs - worth more than a listen.
