Natalia Data Story
From the gloomy depth of the Siberian Taiga via the fashionable decadence of Eastern Europe and after a short layover in the dusty underground of New York City a new musical being arrived to the island of England. It had chosen to settle in the city of Southampton as it is known for rainy weather, nice people, very hard water – best for tea cups during long studio sessions and a secret network of electronic music production studios where those sessions could be held.
The events took place in the beginning of the millennium and the new kid was given a nick name Natalia Data due to a bizarre knowledge of deep space physics demonstrated at random, but more likely because her birth name was simply un-pronounceable: Kulabukhova.
Exposed to the unusual conditions Natalia Data caught the DJ virus and a severe obsession with making techno music. Hence the symptoms of the above generally are declared incurable, she had no choice but to submerge into the succession of DJ gigs, music studies, recording, live performances and festival shenanigans.
Natalia released a debut vinyl on London based Juke Box In The Sky. This was remixed by SCSI 9, Ercolino and Rhythm Code and received support from James Zabiela, John Aquaviva, James Holden and Dj Linus. Most recently a collaboration with Ed Lee led to music being released by Endemic Digital, Sounds of Juan and Bonzai Records.
Natalia travelled the world across Americas to Siberia and back, DJed in many European clubs, presented Ministry of Sound Radio show 'Qaraj' and performed at UK festivals, such as Glade, Glastonbury and Bestival.
Attracted by the professional activity, the wizards at the new university in town (aka Southampton Solent) had invited Natalia Data to join the faculty and in 2007 she began teaching production of electronic music, DJing and live performance.
