NAIL

NAIL is the brainchild of Rainer (Rhino) and Cindy Wiechmann. Both recent former members of Canadian multi-platinum selling recording artists "Helix", their 2006 departure from that band paved the way for a fresh start with a different sound and direction.
The main impetus for forming Nail was a desire to step away from the "classic rock/hairband" metal sound that made Helix popular, and indulge a heavier, more modern sound.
Also, Cindy's powerful vocal and front-person presence demanded a vehicle for her to step out of the "backup singer" role she served in Helix…Nail was the obvious solution.
Perhaps best categorized as "progressive metal", their band has been compared to everything from Rush-influenced to containing elements of Ozzy and Tool…although it is safer to say that Nail sounds like….Nail!
The lineup consists of Rainer & Cindy Wiechmann, Dale Penney (drums), and Darcy Maudsley ( bass).
All long-time veterans of headlining as well as support acts, their combined efforts provide for an unmistakable original sound that sets NAIL apart from most female-fronted metal bands today.
At present, the group remains unsigned/independent.
