Myzphyt (m--s'f--t', m--s-f--t'); the inability to be categorized or placed fittingly into one group or classification. “This is the hardest song in the streets of St. Louis right now!” acclaimed on-air radio personality Meddi Meddi (Hot 104.1 STL) enthusiastically of Myzphyt’s current single ‘ALL I KNOW IS MONEY’ live on the air. “I didn’t know a radio edit could be this hard!”

Not many artists have what is known as the ‘X’ factor. The ‘X’ factor is that quality, ability, or characteristic that is needed to take an artist to the ‘next’ level. Whatever that unknown factor is, Myzphyt has it. With an intriguing story and an innate ability to convey his emotions through his music, Myzphyt is what one would consider the personification of the ‘X’ factor. His charismatic approach to creating music is one of the things that separate him from other artists. “Just because you’re a man with a business does not make you a businessman” Myzphyt said. “In my opinion, you have to look at your music as a product. You must know your customer and target audience. You find a market with an unmet need and you create a product to satisfy that unmet need. You don’t make a product first and then find a market!” Myzphyt’s catchy yet edgy content mixed with a smooth yet bold delivery helps him provide that product.

Born Kevin Sullivan in the early 1980’s, Myzphyt has been provided with an abundance of subject matter including his exposure to street life at a very young age. His father, a well know hustler in the 80’s and early 90’s who is finishing up a 17 year federal prison bid, unknowingly exposed him to that lifestyle. Growing up mostly in Castle Point (an area known as the ghetto of the county), Myzphyt lived in a 3 bedroom house with sometimes as many as 13 family members. It wasn’t long before he found his escape in music. He began rapping after hearing his older brother and his friends battling each other. He began taking his craft seriously in high school when he and a few others started the rap group ‘Trump Tight’. His ability to create a following was evident even then when Trump Tight quickly spawned into 50+ members, a majority of whom didn’t rap. After a few talent shows, the group dissolved and Myzphyt continued to work on his craft. In 2000, he unofficially joined a local label named Platinumize Records, where he recorded street classics such as ‘Move’, ‘Neighborhood’, ‘Uh Uhnnn’, and ‘If I die’. Since that relationship dissolved, Myzphyt been pursuing a solo career path and has recently blessed the streets with the “go-gettas anthem” ALL I KNOW IS MONEY, which has been getting spins on local Radio-One station Hot 104.1 and in premiere St. Louis clubs (Society, Spruill’s, Viva, Evening Shade, African Palace, etc) as well as performing at numerous venues around the St. Louis area (Society, The Loft, Club Onxy, etc). After linking up with former Trump Tight member Quitman ‘Ton’ Jones of General Media Management, garnering enormous support from the STL scene, and getting assistance form St. Lou & Teezy of The BeatDoctors/Audio Trendz, success seems imminent for Myzphyt.

“You got it! Your attitude is what separates you from a lot of these cats. Just stay humble like you are and they gotta let you in. The music is there!” Z107.7 On air personality Doelo.
