"Dark, haunting, and moody with strong ideas and catchy hooks." – Your Music Magazine Santa Cruz
"Blazing guitar licks beneath calm and melodious vocal work, pulsing bass, and pounding serenity on the kit." –Silicon Valley Metro
With hundreds of shows, two EPs, and 2007's full-length In Tune With The Voices In Your Head under
their belt, My Monster have been rocking Silicon Valley for nearly seven years now - and are just getting started.
Delivering an eponymous new EP this year, MM is roaring into gear with a fresh lineup including new lead vocalist Amanda Cabrera and bassist Andrew Gibson, on top of the band's solid core of Frazzle Rock (drums), Statis Kuo (violin, vocals, rhythm guitar) and MC Shockey (vocals, lead guitar).
Cabrera, last seen fronting the band Ruby Red, brings a new sensibility to the 'Monster's music with a vocal presence ready to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with rock's great female leads. Soaring above precision guitar attacks and unrelenting rhythm, her voice brings vibrancy to music already long-respected for being as versatile as it is tight.
But for everything that's new, some things about the band aren't changing: "My Monster kicks right to the gut, evoking a raw power and intense sound that's a throwback to more subversive alternative and indie heydays." (Silicon Valley Metro)

Frankenstein got a bad rap. Poor guy was thrown into a world where he was mistreated and misunderstood. My Monster is a band that had thrown itself into a music scene that's fickle and probably won't "get" what they do. But I get it. They shuffle genres and keep people like myself guessing what they'll do next. Alt. rock? It's here. Grunge? No problem. Every other genre you can think of? Shoot. My Monster has you covered. They rock, pure and simple. They're just like old Frank: Many different pieces and parts that come together harmoniously. Don't be afraid of this monster. Embrace it. You'll be a better person because of it. – Beau Dowling sanjose.com
