Play is all about that simple but intricate kind of sound. Taking influences from the most popular acts from the past 50 years, Play fuses a diverse amount of musical styles into one. Just a regular teenager, front man David Pollack's got raw talent and is the kind of performer you can't keep your eyes off of. His songs and lyrics are simple yet hold intricate hooks and riffs that capture the ear of any listener of any age range. The band is comprised of drummer Tim Fusco who holds it down in the pocket and who serves as a very professional drummer for being only 16 years of age; Jon "BIG MAN" Doncker who is a big man and presence who sings back up vocals, creates a groove, a jive, and an original sound on the Djimbye. On bass is Adrian Zemor, a multi-musically talented guy, always with a party face and ready to jam. Many side artists join the group from time to time although the foundation holds it down steady.

The band formed in the latter 2004 practicing in Tim's Basement in Brooklyn. The band practiced hard for a year before playing out at small bars in Brooklyn and Manhattan which helped to quickly create a strong local fan base before their big break at a local 2007 Manhattan Battle of the Bands; here they won the Grand Prize to record a demo at Rough Magic Studios (roughmagicstudios.com) in Greenpoint Brooklyn. The band then spent a good part of the year recording their debut EP that they released in October of 2007. Their eponymous EP consists of fan favorites such as "Rainbow Schemes" and "Chariots of Fire." Play keeps on sweeping the modern pop/rock genre with influences of new and old and never stops attracting the ears of every age range.
